Built in 1891 for Henry Webber, a controversial figure who abandoned a wife and child back East before eloping with a woman who would later die of strychnine poisoning, this structure was third in value only to the Hotel Jerome and Wheeler Opera House at the time. The Elks Club purchased it for back taxes in 1912 and has met here ever since.
