This structure, likely constructed in the early 1880s,  is one of the oldest mining-era structures known to remain in Aspen. It is a log structure, the typical material before sawmills were established.  The logs are hewn into rectangular shapes and vary in size, with notched ends that are slightly over-hanging at the corners.
